We design, manufacture, assemble and integrate components for gravity-release guided systems, missiles and loitering munitions.

Role Purpose:

The DFAM Manufacturing Engineer focuses on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes by independently planning and conducting the selection, application and evaluation of engineering techniques, procedures and methodologies to improve the outcomes, within cost, time and Quality requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess engineering data packs, including PCB design files, schematics, and BOMs, to ensure they meet established DFAM principles and standards.
  • Identify potential manufacturing issues within the designs and recommend modifications to enhance manufacturability
  • Utilise purposeful Cable design software such as Creo and Solid Works, viewing software packages for layout and routing validation.
  • Review and actively participate in developing tooling and fixture concepts for the required manufacturing part
  • Collaborating with project managers and electronic design engineers to evaluate and implement up-to-dated technology and -materials to improve manufacturability
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Cable and Harness manufacturing and integrate relevant innovations into assembly processes .
  • Participate in prototype validation tests to evaluate manufacturing feasibility.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures in Manufacturing adhere to the customer and quality standards
  • Review and assess engineering data packs, including PCB design files, schematics, and BOMs, to ensure they meet established manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Work with external manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for production and assist with meeting assembly requirements.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the hardware/firmware engineering domain.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the certification/classification methodology of software .
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in the defence industry.
