Senior Manager - Project Equipment

Job Description

Develop and implement strategic equipment engineering and maintenance plans by overseeing maintenance of equipment, machinery, and workshop facilities across all Ports to ensure reliability, optimal functionality, quality and compliance with safety standard.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, optimize and provide cost effective maintenance service to meet or exceed the equipment availability, performance and reliability requirements of customer.
• Monitor, review and report the actual equipment performance/expenditure to ensure that the activities are managed within the defined budget parameters and agreed key performance indicators are attained.
• Ensure the adherence to appropriate work practices, schedules, policies, standards, risk assessments and procedures to deliver the quality service to the satisfaction/pleasure of the customers at right price and at right time.
• Manage requirements of spares, tools, or maintenance supplies to ensure the availability of the required material/ services of right quality at right time with minimum stock in the warehouse/ workshop.
• Manage Department budget/ equipment OPEX/ /CAPEX projects/ define scope/ and support with technical evaluation in different disciplined Mechanical/ Electrical/instrumentation.
• Recommend technical and engineering solutions for critical problems within all Ports.
• Develop equipment specifications, review technical tender documents, coordinate and manage the project with the stakeholders, project meetings and final acceptance handover of the equipment.
• Comply with the requirement of the Abu Dhabi Ports health and safety policies, processes, and procedures.
• Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments and utilize information to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
• Assess risks in equipment and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential liabilities.

• Facilitate effective communication within the team, address concerns and ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
• Identify training and development needs, create career development plans, and offer opportunities for skill-building.
• Evaluate and hire contractors to maintain the equipment beyond internal technical/ skill capability.
• Foster a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork among team members to maximize their collective potential.
  
  

Strategic Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement short and long-term goal and action plan to meet the requirements of department aligned to cluster and AD Ports Group score cards.
  
  

Promote alternative strategies by understanding current and future priorities of customers and committed services.

Qualifications

Educational and Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
  
  

Language Skills:

• Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage
  
  

Years of Experience:

• A minimum of 12-15 years of experience in a similar role
  
  

Nature of Experience:

• Experience in similar capacity in Maintenance and Reliability in Manufacturing / Industrial environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performance teams.
