About The Department Of Finance – Abu Dhabi

Established in 1966 with the objective of strengthening the financial sustainability of the Emirate, DoF is responsible for the development and execution of the Abu Dhabi government’s annual budget and for overseeing government returns, expenditures,

Objective: Supervising the preparation of financial reports that contribute to supporting the decision-making process and mitigating anticipated financial risks, and overseeing their implementation and coordination with the relevant organizational units to carry this out.

Essential Duties

  • Supervising the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Ensure that all financial reports meet regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors (internal and external) and coordinate financial audits, addressing audit findings and recommendations.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and update financial reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure transparency, accuracy, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee the development of financial reporting methodologies, systems, and models to ensure accurate production of financial information and data, and thus efficient and effective preparation and submission of relevant reports.
  • Oversee coordination with relevant organizational units to obtain the financial data necessary to prepare and prepare the required financial reports.
  • Oversee the review of existing data, its quality, and accuracy, and the development of tables and models necessary for the data modeling process, in order to develop business in accordance with organizational unit requirements.
  • Provide the necessary support to the line manager and perform any other related tasks assigned.

Qualifications And Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree or higher, in accounting or equivalent in a similar specialty that is appropriate for the job duties.
  • A Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Preferable to have 6 to 8 years of experience in a similar field/position.
