Senior Manager - ESG Risk

The Corporate, Wealth & Investment Banking Group (CWIBG) provides a portfolio of corporate banking services, including investment & transaction banking as well as financial market solutions. This sophisticated product suite is powered by efficient digital platforms and distribution channels. It serves a broad range of clients both domestically and across the MENA region, including government entities, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, Non-bank financial institutions (NBFI), to large corporates, and maintains strategic relationships with leading banks globally.

Role Overview

To manage the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the Bank’s credit risk management framework across selected Groups by developing and implementing ESG policies, aligning credit practices with the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations, and ensuring ESG considerations are embedded in client selection, transaction assessment, and portfolio monitoring

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

• Implement ESG framework through policies, rationalise procedures, establish risk appetite and monitoring mechanisms, mitigate reputation risk
• Conduct ESG scorecard assessments, enhanced due diligence, manage external ESG consultants
• Lead system changes for ESG policy monitoring, support UAT of risk systems
• Support data collection and post-extraction review in order to identify issues
• Provide training on approved policies, procedures, circulars and risk standards to ensure business, credit teams and credit operations are compliant with the requirements
• Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the required standard of service to customers and stakeholders

The ideal candidate should have the following experience:

• At least 7 years of experience in ESG/Risk
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or related field
• ESG Professional Accreditation
• UAE regulatory reporting standards
• TCFD and TNFD
• Financed Emission best practices
• Core Banking products (CIBG, CBG, Treasury)
• Accounting concepts and standards
• Advanced programming (SQL, Access, VBA)
• Bank IT/reporting systems (CAD, Flexcube, FCC, FCR, FCI, WB core, Murex)
• Corporate and SME banking products
• Business analytics (SQL, SPSS)
• Credit risk processes and workflows
• KPI, KRI, risk appetite monitoring
• Credit MIS (portfolio data, scoring, prediction)
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
• Presentation tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerPoint)
