Purpose of the Role

The Senior MAC / I&C Engineer is responsible for the engineering, design, review, coordination, and technical assurance of Measurement, Automation & Control (MAC) and Instrumentation & Control systems throughout the project lifecycle, including Concept, FEED, EPC, Commissioning, and Start-up phases. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, international standards, ADNOC requirements, and industry best practices while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering and design of Instrumentation, Control, Automation, and Measurement systems for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities.
  • Develop and review instrument datasheets, specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, control narratives, cause & effect charts, shutdown logic, and loop diagrams.
  • Lead the design and integration of DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS/ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G), and package control systems.
  • Engineer and review fiscal metering, custody transfer, flow measurement, flow computers, tank gauging, and analyzer systems.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Piping, and Telecommunications disciplines.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and client standards.
  • Support HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT, and Integrated System Testing activities.
  • Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant start-up.
  • Resolve technical queries, deviations, concession requests, and site engineering issues.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with ADNOC, IEC, ISA, API, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, and international engineering standards.
  • Participate in technical meetings with clients, licensors, EPC contractors, and vendors.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering team.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, progress reporting, risk management, and technical assurance activities.

Min Qualification & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Experience within FEED & EPC experience required.
  • Experience in PMC roles.
  • Must have previous experience working in offshore projects
  • ADNOC Project experience is required .
