Job Description

The Senior Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating the storage, transportation, and distribution of goods. This leadership position demands a comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain management, as well as solid experience in overseeing logistic operations, managing budgets, and leading teams. Our Senior Logistics Manager is expected to drive improvement initiatives, develop strategic planning for logistics operations, and ensure that our supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. This position requires excel in problem-solving skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work under pressure while adapting to the ever-changing warehousing landscape. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and help streamline our logistics operations to meet the long-term goals of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement logistical strategies to achieve operational excellence and productivity.
  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics personnel to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to optimize supply chain processes and efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local regulations governing logistical operations.
  • Manage logistics budgets including forecasts, costs, and variances to ensure fiscal objectives.
  • Assess and refine policies and procedures for logistics and warehouse management.
  • Negotiate and review contracts with third-party vendors to ensure favorable terms.
  • Implement technological advancements to enhance inventory management systems and data tracking.
  • Develop and maintain best practice emergency response plans and contingency strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management to provide insights on logistics performance.
  • Monitor and analyse logistical data to improve supply chain logistics and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics strategies with company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in logistics with 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of logistics and inventory management software solutions.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and implementing logistical strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse workforce.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate logistical data and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet critical deadlines consistently.
