Project Overview

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.

Job Summary

In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring that the Customer’s appointed engineering consultants and contractors correctly identify, define and resolve all scope and technical interfaces in the delivery of the work. The scope of the interfaces shall include, but may not be limited to, building civil, structural, architectural, MEP, FLS, utilities, ground investiagtions, urban releam and interfaces with external stakeholders.

You will understand and utilize tools such as the Project Delivery Matrix to ensure that all interfaces are correctly identified and managed to successful conclusion in accordance with the Project schedule and to the expected standard of quality. You will also collaborate and coordinate with the Stakeholder Management Team to ensure that all necessary internal and external Stakeholder approvals are obtained in a timely manner. Your technical and leadership skills will be essential to successfully closing out all interfaces to mitigate Project risk.

Major Responsibilities

• Develops and utilizes the Project Delivery Matrix to identify scope and technical interfaces across multiple contract and multi-discipline design work packages.
• Applies engineering knowledge and experience in the review and acceptance of interface documents submitted by the customer’s design consultants and contractors.
• Leads and supervises the performance of the customer’s design consultants in the timely production of interface documents to the expected standard of quality and ensures that the REH Interface Management process is followed.
• Participates in the design, development and modification of civil/structural/MEP components and processes utilizing relevant Project procedures.
• Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions.
• Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
• Coordinates and collaborates with the Stakeholder Management Team to ensure that all necessary approvals or permits from internal and external Stakeholders are obtained in a timely manner, mitigating risk to the Project schedule.
  
  

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Prior experience in a similar role, ideally on infrastructure projects.
• Proven leadership, supervision and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Good standard of written & oral communication skills.
• Understanding and proficiency in use of the Project Delivery Matrix or similar interface management tools and software applications.
• Ability to author technical documents in clear and concise language.
• Technical proficiency in core discipline accompanied with broad understanding of other disciplines, ideally in urban and complex buildings.
