About The Role

The Senior Infrastructure Planner will support the masterplanning leader and planning, transport and infrastructure service leader in delivering existing and future projects. In addition, we expect you to contribute to the development of a masterplanning practice both in terms of project wins and team appointments.

You will principally be overseeing the technical delivery of masterplans but more specifically the utility and road network planning and design in relation to existing projects. You will also assist with growing the masterplanning business across the region by developing opportunities of scale through either existing clients or known contacts in the market.

An understanding of strategic government initiatives related to future Infrastructure network planning in the Region is a key attribute for this role. Extensive experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams is also essential as a core component of Mott MacDonald’s business which provides a variety of engineering, environment and transport services. Internal networking and relationships with government authorities in the Region will also be important elements of this role.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Contribute to the development and success of the master planning business across the region in conjunction with the masterplanning leader;
  • Responsible for design reviews and approvals, in addition to technical and commercial bid reviews/approvals;
  • Liaise with Government agencies / private developers within the Region as necessary to develop strategic opportunities;
  • Liaise with Developers and Architects in the Region to develop opportunities through innovation, cost-effectiveness and an understanding of future network planning in the Region;
  • Support the master planning leader and coordinate with multi-disciplinary built environment design teams both in UAE and in other offices across the GCC within Mott MacDonald Middle East
  • Key experience in utility masterplanning and experience in project management of major masterplanning commissions including transport, environment, sustainability, waste etc in the region

Candidate specification

  • An Engineering Degree in civilor similar relevant discipline from a recognised university
  • Extensive experience in design and design management, working within an infrastructure engineering leadrole
  • Delivery of large-scale master planning projects
  • Experience of delivering projects in the GCC, preferably in UAE and KSA
  • Must have a strong local contact base (in particular developers and architects)
  • Experience in liaising with Government Authorities and Municipality Departments is essential
  • Arabic speaking is advantageous but not essential
  • An understanding of the design and build process
