The Senior Incident Investigator in the Oil and Gas sector is pivotal in ensuring the industry adheres to the utmost safety standards and maintains operational continuity. This role demands a meticulous and analytical professional who can delve deep into incident scenes, understanding the root causes and contributing factors, and provide insights that lead to the prevention of future occurrences. They will often work alongside multidisciplinary teams to gather data, conduct interviews, and compile comprehensive reports. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and contributing factors.

  • Develop detailed incident reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure all investigations comply with industry-specific safety regulations and standards.
  • Present findings to senior management and other key stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Maintain detailed records of investigations, ensuring documentation security and accessibility.
  • Facilitate post-incident reviews to derive lessons learned and improve procedures.
  • Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions recommended in investigation reports.
  • Advise on risk assessment and management based on investigation outcomes.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance investigation skills.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare for and respond to high-pressure investigation scenarios promptly and efficiently.


Requirements

  • Extensive experience in incident investigation within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the sector.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis related to incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex findings effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in high-stress environments.
  • Willingness to travel to on-site locations for thorough and direct investigations.
