Senior Hydraulics Engineer – UAE

About the Role:

Our Engineering team is expanding in UAE due to a strong pipeline of projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydraulics Engineer to join our integrated, multi-disciplinary team, delivering projects across infrastructure, buildings, transport, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute hydraulic engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to delivery standards, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Apply technical knowledge to solve routine and complex problems independently, using established methodologies.
  • Manage smaller or routine projects as Project Manager when required.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through excellent service and delivery, ensuring repeat business.
  • Communicate project progress and proactively address issues that may impact project timelines.
  • Coordinate activities with peers and provide informal guidance to junior team members as needed.
  • Work under the guidance of supervisors and project leaders, with regular review of deliverables.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on hydraulic systems (drainage, water supply, gas, compressed air, firefighting).
  • Proven track record of successfully completed hydraulics and fire engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and markup tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Blue beam, Elite Fire).
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and hydraulic system design.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management, water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater systems.
  • Knowledge of local and international codes and standards for hydraulic engineering.
  • Experience ensuring regulatory compliance and permitting.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC works, including HAP calculations.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Commercial awareness of financial, market, economic, legal, and regulatory environments.
  • Agile learner, client-centric, and able to build trust within teams.
  • Experience in designing hydraulic systems for super high-rise towers, aviation facilities, schools, hotels, warehouses etc.
  • Proficiency with local codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous project experience in UAE is strongly preferred
