The Project
Mace is supporting the delivery of a large‑scale, next‑generation digital infrastructure programme in the region, working alongside a leading developer in the data centre sector. The project brings together complex design coordination, fast‑paced delivery and rigorous governance to meet the demands of a mission‑critical environment. Our team is applying global best practice in programme, project and commercial management to help shape resilient, future‑ready infrastructure at scale.
You’ll Be Responsible For
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the project health, safety and wellbeing strategy in line with Mace standards and local regulations.
Oversee health and safety performance across multiple work fronts, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures and controls.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and assurance activities, addressing non-conformances and driving corrective actions.
Champion a proactive safety culture through engagement initiatives, leadership coaching and behavioural safety programmes.
Provide expert advice to project teams, contractors and stakeholders on health and safety risks within a live, mission-critical environment.
Monitor and report on key safety metrics, trends and performance indicators to senior leadership.
Ensure robust incident investigation processes are in place, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
Collaborate closely with construction, commercial and design teams to ensure safety is embedded throughout delivery.
Support pre-construction activities, including risk assessments, method statement reviews and constructability input.
Interface with external stakeholders, authorities and auditing bodies as required.
You’ll Need To Have
Relevant degree or equivalent in health and safety or related discipline.
Professional certification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IOSH) preferred.
Proven experience in a senior health and safety manager role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong background in high-risk, complex environments (e.g. data centres, major infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities). Demonstrable experience driving safety culture and behavioural change across diverse project teams.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards and best practice in the region.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Strong reporting, analytical and communication capabilities.
