Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC) is a global leader in diabetes and endocrine treatment, education and research. Established in 2006 by Mubadala in partnership with the UK’s Imperial College London, the Centre specializes in treating all types of diabetes and endocrine disorders, as well as focusing on diabetes research, training, and public health awareness. The Centre, which operates four branches across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, has gained international recognition for its holistic approach to the treatment of diabetes and related complications that enables patients to receive the full spectrum of care in one place.

The Senior Field Technician is responsible for providing onsite and remote technical support within a healthcare environment, ensuring the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of clinical and non-clinical IT systems. The role supports day-to-day hospital operations, including EMR systems, medical devices, and end-user computing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite IT support to clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and uninterrupted system availability.
  • Support and troubleshoot Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, preferably Cerner, and other healthcare applications to maintain efficient clinical workflows.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade end-user devices, including workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners.
  • Assist with integrated medical devices and healthcare technology systems, coordinating with vendors and application teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform basic network and infrastructure support, including connectivity, Wi-Fi, and access-related troubleshooting.
  • Support IT projects, facility expansions, system rollouts, user training, and go-live activities to drive successful technology adoption.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset inventories, and compliance with IT policies, data privacy standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma with relevant major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • At least 5 years’ direct experience with user support in a multi system environment, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
  • Experience supporting clinical applications and medical devices is a plus
