Job Purpose

Provide technical expertise and ensure optimized review and analysis of site resources and downtime for all Instrument and control systems related major activities to ensure reliability and availability and facilitate safe operations.

Key Accountabilities

Maintenance Planning, Execution and Expertise

  • Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and modification activities of instrument & control equipment and systems in the plant to ensure safe and efficient services.
  • Review preventive maintenance plans / schedules and prepare task list / maintenance programmes for instrument and control systems and equipment in the plant and supervise the execution of such programmes.
  • Diagnose, analyse and carry out root cause failure analysis, highlight reasons for equipment failure and advice on remedial measures.
  • Study and carry our residual life assessment of critical instrument and control equipment and suggest corrective action.
  • Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems, and review requirement for major repair and spares replacements to ensure that all equipment and systems are in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standard.
  • Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the findings.
  • Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow-up new material orders.Create new proposal for stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
  • Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term activities as per plant shutdown schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize the utilization of section manpower and to plan and control the major & minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
  • Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
  • Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study the proposed PCR for implementation and work out plans and schedules for implementing them.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation/Control Engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

8 years of relevant experiences in Instrument & Control Maintenance in an oil and gas facilities
