Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Reviews electrical engineering design development and specification for projects associated with Civil Projects Division. Develops statement of requirements for new projects. Provides troubleshooting guidance to on-going and completed civil projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities



  • Develop statements of requirements for new projects in collaboration with end users, ensuring clear objectives and alignment with project goals.
  • Draft and review detailed scopes of work for consultants and contractors specific to electrical systems and infrastructure needs.
  • Establish in-house standards, specifications, and guidelines to maintain consistency and compliance across projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of consultant and contractor design documents, verifying alignment with project scope, safety standards, and contract requirements.
  • Approve design drawings, technical specifications, and supporting documents within contractual timelines to prevent claims and delays.
  • Monitor the quality and adherence of Project Management Consultants to project standards, implementing cost-effective and efficient solutions.
  • Participate in reviewing bidders’ lists and tender documents prepared by consultants, with a focus on key electrical components such as switchgear, transformers, generators, and motors.
  • Conduct technical evaluations during tender processes and assist in selecting compliant, highquality materials.
  • Coordinate electrical works across multiple projects to ensure optimal design and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Review and validate in-house engineering documents, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and scope of work annexures.
  • Perform routine site inspections, addressing any discrepancies in electrical installations to uphold quality control and project standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical installations on-site to resolve technical issues promptly and prevent future complications.
  • Monitor and evaluate construction progress, ensuring that electrical works align with the approved design and contract requirements.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of critical systems and equipment during the construction stage.
  • Audit pre-commissioning and commissioning processes, witnessing equipment performance to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure all installed equipment meets the contractual, technical, and performance criteria, enhancing overall system reliability.
  • Apply value engineering principles to implement cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering technology, codes, and software to recommend state-of-the-art solutions.
  • Incorporate energy efficiency, renewable solutions, and smart technology where feasible, optimizing system performance and sustainability.
  • Maintain a collaborative approach, working with architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines to align electrical designs with broader project objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize technical documentation and reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved

Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.

  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 8 years of experience, including 5 years in UAE in leading mega projects through various stages , design and construction of all electrical systems according to standards and project management protocols.
