Responsibilities:

Role Purpose

Working Within The Core Network & Systems Support Team To Maintain, Analyse, Enhance And Troubleshoot The Operations And Business Support Systems, Adopting The Systems Performance KPI. Will Mainly Focus On The Suite Of Bespoke Systems Including The Hardware And Operating Systems Hosting These Systems:

• Satellite Control Centers.
• Flight Dynamics systems.
• Billing Operations.
• Pre-paid systems.
• Value Added Services.-dedicated applications, softwares,
• Voice over IP services.
• Analyse the future requirements and bring in reliable, durable and cost-effective solutions for all Operations related needs.
  
  

• Manages multiple Operations & Business support systems, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing company’s computer systems. Perform daily server maintenance related to Applications ,Operating system and hardware.
• Provide Operations support for the commercial and military Payload control Center (PCC) and Satellite Control center (SCC) including’s support of the Applications, operating Systems, Hardware and perform health checks, preventive maintenance, updates, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Support of the Java-based operational applications, on back-end servers and clients, include preventive maintenance, validation, deployment of updates, Analyse the system alarms and occurrences, for root cause analysis and resolution.
• Support of the IP Network, Monitoring and Control system (M&C), and the telemetry tracking and commanding systems (TT&C) of the satellite communications chain.
• Ensure the security and protection of the information systems (Data backup, confidentiality and disaster recovery).
• Troubleshoot the connectivity between the various subsystems, within the local network and the interfaces to connected systems like GCBB, NCC,PCC & SCC.
• Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance in technology & vendor selection. Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning, and develops capital and operating budget proposals
• Debugging Application & Server performance issues, and monitoring servers along with resident applications. Liaise with vendor on resolving the issues.
• Installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current systems.
• Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives. Research and write responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs)
• Lead in administration & testing of datacenter backup, recovery, & Disaster Recovery technologies.
• Develops and implements various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications, and databases. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Hybrid Server-Client networks in a medium\large environment.
• Expert in different versions of UNIX & Linux (Solaris, HPUX, Digital Unix, Red Hat and Ubuntu).
• Knowledge in Windows network environment is a big advantage. (windows servers, Active directory,DNS,LDAP, DHCP)
• Expert in hardware & software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment.
• Knowledge of computer site licensure regulations and requirements.
