We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Manager to lead the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical infrastructure within mission-critical data centre facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of reliability, safety, efficiency, and compliance across all electrical systems while supporting business growth, operational excellence, and uptime objectives.
Your role
Lead the operation, maintenance, and management of critical electrical infrastructure within data centre environments.
Ensure high availability and reliability of power systems supporting mission-critical operations.
Oversee the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for new and existing data centre projects.
Manage electrical assets including utility power systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, RPPs, ATS, STS, and diesel generators.
Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Monitor electrical system performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead troubleshooting, failure investigations, and root cause analyses for electrical incidents.
Support capacity planning, load analysis, and infrastructure expansion projects.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, operational procedures, and industry standards.
Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation.
Coordinate commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational readiness activities.
Manage change control processes and assess operational risks associated with electrical activities.
Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality and SLA compliance.
Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for critical electrical systems.
Support energy-efficiency initiatives and improve facility power utilization effectiveness (PUE).
Lead, mentor, and develop teams of electrical engineers and technicians.
Participate in audits, customer reviews, and regulatory inspections.
Prepare operational reports, maintenance records, performance metrics, and management presentations.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, critical facilities, or data centre operations.
Proven experience managing electrical infrastructure in hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or Tier III/Tier IV data centres.
Strong knowledge of:
Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) power systems
UPS systems and battery technologies
Diesel generators and fuel systems
Switchgear, transformers, ATS, STS, PDUs, and RPPs
Electrical protection and coordination studies
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms
Electrical testing and commissioning processes
Experience with power capacity planning, load management, and redundancy design concepts.
Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with Uptime Institute standards, TIA-942, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, and local electrical codes.
Experience leading complex electrical projects, upgrades, and infrastructure expansions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Experience managing budgets, contractors, vendors, and service-level agreements.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, energy management, and power-efficiency best practices.
