About The Role

As a Senior Data Operations Engineer, you will drive the evolution of our data infrastructure by maintaining and enhancing our data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data delivery, and supporting scalable analytics platforms. Collaborating closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and DevOps teams, you will optimize existing systems and architect new solutions to empower data-driven decision-making and machine learning initiatives. Your expertise will be pivotal in aligning data operations with our strategic goals, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless integration across our technical ecosystem.

What Youll Do

Data Pipeline Management

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines to guarantee accurate, timely, and scalable data processing across systems.
  
  

Data Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Proactively monitor data infrastructure for performance degradation, errors, and latency issues, implementing corrective measures to uphold operational excellence.
  
  

Incident / Problem Management

• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for data-related disruptions, implementing sustainable fixes while ensuring adherence to SLAs and conducting thorough regression testing.
  
  

Automation & Scalability

• Develop automation frameworks for data workflows, monitoring, and reporting to enhance efficiency and scalability, adapting infrastructure to accommodate growing data volumes and evolving business requirements.
  
  

Collaboration & Documentation

• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Data Engineers, BI, Data Scientists, and Analysts—to align data operations with business needs, documenting processes and best practices for seamless integration.
  
  

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders, providing transparent communication on data issues, resolutions, and operational updates.
  
  

What Were Looking For

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Operations, or a similar role with a focus on large-scale data infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure) and data services (Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, ADF).
• Proficiency in ETL tools and pipeline orchestration (Apache Airflow, Prefect, Luigi).
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and data warehousing for large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and programming (Python, Java, or Scala).
• DevOps skills including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize system performance.
  
  

Desirable

• Cloud certifications (Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabrics.
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or MLOps.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing tools (Kafka, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics).
• Experience in data governance and master data management.
