Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a versatile and highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience to join our team in the Engineering Consultation Center at the United Arab Emirates University. This role requires a unique blend of technical mastery in structural design, rigorous project management, and strategic procurement expertise. The successful candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle—from complex structural analysis and material sourcing to final site delivery—while ensuring full compliance with Abu Dhabi’s regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Structural Design & Analysis: Lead the design and review of complex reinforced concrete and steel structures. Perform advanced calculations and simulations to ensure structural integrity and optimization.
• Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consultants and contractors to meet strategic objectives.
• Procurement & Sourcing: Lead the procurement process for civil materials and services. This includes identifying vendors, conducting technical bid evaluations, and managing supplier contracts to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
• Regulatory Compliance: Manage all submissions through the TAMM portal and ensure projects strictly adhere to Abu Dhabi Municipality (DMT) codes and Estidama sustainability standards.
• Technical Quality Control: Review and approve structural shop drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications. Conduct on-site inspections to verify that construction matches the design intent.
  
  

Minimum Qualification

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or project management role within the UAE.
• Licensing: Must be a Licensed Engineer registered with the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT).
• Technical Software: Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, SAP2000) and Project Management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Contractual Knowledge: Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, procurement law, and UAE-specific construction regulations.
• Language: Fluent speaking and writing in English.
  
  

Preferred Qualification

• Experience: preferably within reputable consultancy firms in the UAE.
• AI: Knowledge of AI related applications.
• Language: Fluent speaking and writing in Arabic.
