Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, delivering high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective civil and structural solutions for large-scale oil and gas projects in both greenfield and brownfield environments. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the full design lifecycle—from conceptual development through detailed engineering and construction support—ensuring compliance with international standards, client specifications, and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute civil and structural design activities from conceptual stage through detailed design, delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for onshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Develop and define design basis, technical philosophies, specifications, scopes of work, tender documents, and narratives for civil and structural packages.
  • Review and approve plant layouts, road networks, grading, drainage systems, underground services, architectural elements, modularization strategies, and prefabricated building designs.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and oversee the design of a wide range of structures, including:
    • Pipe racks, pipe bridges, and sleepers
    • Process and equipment support structures
    • Equipment foundations (heat exchangers, vertical/horizontal vessels, columns/towers, large storage tanks, spheres)
    • Dynamic load-bearing foundations for compressors and pumps
    • Equipment shelters, control rooms, substations, administrative buildings, and site camps
    • Blast-resistant structures and buildings
  • Critically review and interpret topographical surveys and geotechnical investigation reports to inform design decisions.
  • Check and approve calculations, general arrangement drawings, detailed reinforcement drawings, 3D models, and material take-offs (MTOs) produced by the team.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS, AISC, ACI, ASCE, API, and client-specific requirements).
  • Conduct technical evaluation of supplier and subcontractor bids, ensuring alignment with project specifications and scopes of work.
  • Review vendor documentation and inter-discipline drawings to verify adequacy of civil/structural input and resolve coordination issues.
  • Optimize structural designs to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining safety, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, method statements, vendor clarifications, and technical bid evaluation documentation.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas EPC projects, with significant exposure to FEED, detailed engineering, and construction support phases.
  • Proven track record delivering civil/structural designs for onshore and offshore facilities in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of international engineering codes and standards (BS, AISC, ACI, ASCE, API, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, or equivalent).
  • Experience with 3D modelling tools (Revit, Tekla, Bentley, or similar) and BIM coordination is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and inter-disciplinary coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural project teams.
  • Previous experience in blast-resistant design, dynamic analysis, modularization, and prefabricated structures is advantageous.
