Position Summary:

We are looking for a PPM Process Senior Specialist to join our Digital Transformation team, with responsibility for defining, standardizing, and enabling enterprise-level processes for project portfolio management and management of the full project lifecycle in a complex, engineering-driven environment.

In addition to shaping best-practice processes for complex product development projects, customer delivery contracts, capital projects, and strategic transformation initiatives, this role will ensure these processes are fully enabled in our enterprise PPM/ ERP application landscape and that end users can effectively leverage the capabilities of:

  • SAP EPPM – portfolio prioritization, governance, and KPI tracking
  • SAP S/4 HANA – cost management, revenue planning, and procurement integration
  • Microsoft Project Server – enterprise scheduling, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and time writing

As EDGE Group continues to grow, our set of standardized business processes and digital solutions is being extended to new entities. The PPM Process Senior Specialist will engage with these new entities to facilitate their on-boarding and to support the effective adoption of the enterprise processes.

Key Accountabilities

Process & Solution Design

  • Design integrated project and portfolio management processes, covering the full lifecycle from opportunity identification and bid evaluation to program execution, change control, and closure.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., PMI PMBOK, ISO 21500, EIA-748 EVMS) and regulatory frameworks common in the aerospace/defense sector.
  • Translate business requirements into functional design specifications, workflows, and system configuration guidelines for implementation teams.

Application Enablement & User Guidance

  • Define system usage guidelines, templates, and data structures (e.g., WBS templates, coding standards, portfolio taxonomies) to support consistent execution.
  • Advise PMOs, program managers, and controllers on best use of PPM tools to manage schedules, resources, budgets, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct hands-on sessions, demos, and user onboarding to ensure effective adoption of Microsoft Project Server, SAP S/4HANA PS, and SAP EPPM functionalities.
  • Provide solution advice and support the AMS team with expert-level troubleshooting for critical cases, bridging functional process design and technical configuration.

Integration & Data Governance

  • Ensure seamless integration between PPM tools and ERP modules, enabling accurate cost/ schedule performance measurement and executive reporting.
  • Work with data governance to maintain master data integrity and establish controls for portfolio and project information.
  • Support KPI dashboard design for earned value, schedule adherence, portfolio health, and benefit realization tracking.

Implementation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead discovery and explore activities for project management and PPM in implementation projects, working with business process owners in the respective entities
  • Participate in system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and cutover planning.
  • Gather feedback from business users to continuously refine both processes and system configurations.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 + years’ experience in enterprise project/ portfolio management process design in large-scale, engineering or defense environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Project Server, SAP S/4HANA PS (plus SD and MM), and SAP EPPM.
  • Proven ability to act as a functional bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Extensive experience in implementing PPM processes and solutions in the context of digital transformation programs
  • Track record in training, mentoring, and guiding end users in enterprise application usage.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured functional documentation (process flows, functional specs)

Preferred

  • Experience in environments with EVMS compliance, ITAR/EAR controls, and aerospace/ defense-specific program governance.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation in engineering enterprises, including digital thread and digital twin concepts.
