Job Description

The role of a Sales Manager – Lighting is pivotal in leading and driving the sales efforts within a company that specializes in lighting solutions. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the lighting industry. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for setting and hitting sales targets, guiding and mentoring your team to ensure they meet their sales goals, and developing strategies for increasing market share and enhancing customer satisfaction. With a mix of strategic planning and hands-on management, you will lead initiatives that drive revenue growth while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and identifying new business opportunities. You will work closely with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure that sales goals align with the overall business objectives of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company sales goals and profitability.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and plan strategies to penetrate and grow those markets.
  • Analyze sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.
  • Manage key customer relationships and actively pursue and secure new business accounts.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs and company’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop lead generation and promotional activities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports to senior management for review and strategy refinement.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and stay abreast of the lighting industry developments.
  • Train and develop sales staff in professional selling techniques and product knowledge.
  • Negotiate and close contracts with large scale accounts and partners.
  • Ensure that the sales team adheres to company policies and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales, with a proven track record in the lighting industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in managing sales teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to gather and interpret sales data.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and ability to manage and interpret data.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events as necessary.
