Anton Paar UAE, part of the global Anton Paar Group, handles sales & service of precision instruments in the UAE and is expanding to Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. We are looking for a Sales Department Manager – Business Unit Characterization, who will lead sales across these markets, driving growth and achieving regional targets. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role combines leadership with hands-on sales for Characterization and Analytical product lines. GCC experience and Arabic proficiency are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate a small UAE-based Characterization sales team to achieve targets and uphold Anton Paar’s standards.
Take overall responsibility for the regional sales budget across the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
Personally manage business development and direct sales in Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar, focusing on new opportunities and re-engagement with existing customers from the former distribution partner.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring consistent technical and commercial support.
Prepare accurate quotations and proposals, manage pipelines, and follow up to secure new business.
Conduct product demonstrations, installations, and customer training across assigned territories.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of Anton Paar’s Characterization and selected Solutions portfolios.
Coordinate application-related support and specialized expertise with Anton Paar headquarters to address complex customer requirements.
Ensure data accuracy and reporting discipline within SAP CRM; provide regular sales forecasts and market insights to management.
Drive continuous improvement in sales performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Your profile:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales of laboratory or analytical instruments; management experience is essential.
Proven understanding of Characterization and Analytical techniques, including rheology, particle analysis, thermal analysis, and related technologies.
Demonstrated success leading a sales team in a multinational or regional organization.
GCC market experience strongly preferred, particularly in Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
Proficiency in Arabic highly advantageous for regional customer engagement.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Hands-on approach and willingness to perform demonstrations, installations, and customer training when required.
Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 25-40%).
