We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Assistant to join our retail team, who will be instrumental in providing top-notch service to our valued customers. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment in the store, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service, and assisting with any inquiries they may have about our products. You will play a crucial role in meeting the store’s sales goals by promoting and upselling our range of products. As a Sales Assistant, your role not only requires interpersonal and communications skills but also a keen ability to manage merchandise displays. A proactive attitude and a commitment to ensuring the smooth running of daily operations are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the store and offer assistance promptly.
• Provide detailed information on products and services while ensuring excellent customer service.
• Guide and direct customers in discovering their needs and making suitable choices.
• Assist with the layout of the store to enhance sales and customer experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment to uphold company standards.
• Handle transactions at the cash register, including sales, exchanges, and returns.
• Monitor the inventory levels and report when stocks are low or running out.
• Promote and upsell products to maximize store sales and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in the setting up and management of promotional displays and events.
• Resolve any customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Offer support and collaborate with other team members to achieve sales targets.
• Contribute to team meetings with ideas and feedback from the sales floor.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a retail sales role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and build rapport.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when necessary.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and understanding sales metrics and targets.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and related software.
• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is advantageous.
