Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, clients, and visitors. The Safety Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company’s employee safety at work. His/Her main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills. You will conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to promote a culture of health and safety. If you are passionate about maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and have a keen eye for identifying potential hazards, we would like to meet you.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure a hazard-free environment.
  • Identify potential workplace safety and health hazards and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety induction and specific training programs to enhance employee awareness.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update them according to legislation changes.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
  • Coordinate with management to develop and implement emergency procedures.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are followed in alignment with industry standards.
  • Promote safety culture across the company through workshops and safety programs.
  • Collaborate with internal representatives and stakeholders to monitor compliance.
  • Maintain records of all safety-related activities and updates in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a commercial setting.
  • In-depth understanding of OHS guidelines and safety management principles.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH/OSHA) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards accurately.
  • Proficient in MS Office and report writing skills for documentation.
