Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  1. Develop procedures and instructions in order to standardize and optimize the execution of work on site based on the overall system and applicable requirements.
  2. Monitor overall inspections on all site activities, materials and recourses by conducting random inspections to make sure all relevant procedures, requirements specifications and regulations are implemented.
  3. Assist in the preparation of H/S/E plans, inspection and audit programs based on contractual, legal and internal requirements in order to assess the conformity of site activities.
  4. Collate and analyze data, prepare regular reports, develop recommendations to handle identified hazards and solve relevant problems, discrepancies or adverse events.
  5. Assist procurement and project’s staff by providing technical guidance related to hazardous materials, resources and activities and their relevant H/S/E preventive measures.
  6. Provide H/S/E induction and on-going awareness on complex H/S/E procedures and regulations to construction staff, contractors or visitors in order to prevent and/or handle potential adverse events.
  7. Liaise with internal and external clients to discuss discrepancies, H/S/E incidents, H/S/E violation or any specific matters relating to own area of specialty and intervene in case of emergencies and/or work interruptions due to H/S/E violation.
  8. Conduct weekly H/S/E meeting that aims to discuss a preset H/S/E subject, evaluate H/S/E practices and events and take decisions for performance improvement.
  9. Learn from own and others experience in order to increase capability and skill level.
  10. Coach H/S/E officers at lower levels in order to integrate them in the work and train them to ensure their continuous skill level improvement.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS


  • Engineering degree or Bachelor of science with a diploma in H/S/E Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Must have experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of inspection methods and procedures in own area.
  • Complete knowledge of operating and H/S/E procedures and standards.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Understanding of engineering standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Good planning, organization and supervisory capabilities.
  • English language skill – written and spoken.
