We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and promoting workplace safety, implementing and maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. As a Safety Engineer, you will work closely with various departments to design systems that protect human health and safety while minimizing environmental impact. You will monitor processes and systems, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks. Your expertise will play a crucial role in preventing workplace accidents and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace hazards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Analyze accident reports and take corrective actions to eliminate hazards.
• Provide safety training and education to employees at all organizational levels.
• Design safe operational procedures by identifying and assessing potential risks.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate safety features in design plans.
• Investigate workplace incidents and prepare reports with recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Review and approve safety programs submitted by contractors or third parties.
• Ensure the availability and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Facilitate emergency response planning, including drills and simulations.
• Monitor operational procedures to anticipate and mitigate new safety risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a safety engineering role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other safety regulations and requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and tools for monitoring compliance.
• Effective communication skills to provide training and convey safety information.
• Certification in Safety Management, such as CSP or NEBOSH, is highly desirable.
