Job Description

The role of a Risk Manager is crucial in identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks that could impact an organization's operational and strategic goals. The Risk Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of risk management strategies, including risk avoidance and mitigation plans, insurance purchases, and loss prevention measures. A successful Risk Manager uses analytical skills to evaluate risk exposure and develops financial and operational risk models to guide decision making. This professional serves as the backbone of the company’s risk management initiatives, enabling the company to confidently pursue growth opportunities with a clear understanding of associated risks. The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual capable of communicating complex risk issues to stakeholders at all levels within the business, working closely with other departments to ensure that risk management controls are operationally integrated and effective.


Responsibilities

  • Identify potential risks using both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and methodologies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure risk control measures are effective.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of identified risks on business operations and profitability.
  • Advise the executive team on risk management strategies and potential risk factors.
  • Monitor external economic trends and their potential impact on organizational risk levels.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry standards in risk management.
  • Coordinate with insurers and brokers to manage claims and obtain optimal insurance coverage.
  • Lead risk awareness training sessions for employees to foster a culture of risk management.
  • Prepare risk financing strategies, including purchasing insurance and self-insurance schemes.
  • Provide consultation on new projects to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a risk management or related role.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with risk management software and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proven experience in developing comprehensive risk assessments and reports.
  • Certification in risk management (such as RIMS-CRMP, CRM, or equivalent) is preferred.
