Job Description

The Reservations Agent plays a crucial role within the hospitality and travel industry, serving as the primary point of contact for guests and clients seeking to book reservations. With a focus on customer service, this position requires strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively. The Reservations Agent is responsible for ensuring a seamless booking process that enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role involves handling inquiries via phone, email, or online systems, managing bookings, and providing information about accommodations or travel packages. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to achieve sales and service expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to inquiries about room availability and rates efficiently.
  • Manage and update the reservations system to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations in a timely manner.
  • Provide detailed information about accommodations, packages, and amenities offered.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to promote special offers and packages.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by solving problems and addressing complaints promptly.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel's property management system and procedures.
  • Upsell rooms and other services to maximize revenue generation for the hotel.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reservation reports for management review.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents and corporate clients.
  • Verify guest details to ensure accuracy in reservation and data entry.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations team to ensure guest requirements are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a reservations or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with reservation software and CRM systems.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of requests efficiently and professionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
