Research Associate ESG CSR Impact Index

Job Description

The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research Associate to carry out the calculations underpinning an ESG/CSR impact index and its associated model, including the computation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and broader environmental impacts.. The candidate should be skilled in quantitative and computational modeling, data analysis, and sustainability metrics. The preferred candidate will hold a Ph.D. in an Engineering field and have demonstrated experience in mathematical modeling, handling large datasets, and translating complex data into robust indicators.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field Strong quantitative and computational modeling skills Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods Experience computing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and assessing environmental impacts Good technical writing skills Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role Experience in building analytical dashboards

Preferred Qualification

Familiarity with ESG/CSR frameworks and sustainability indicators Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) or process modeling Command of analytical tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) Adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace Proficiency with dashboard and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
