Job Description

United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Research Assistant to join the UAEU–Sultan Qaboos University joint research project, “Utilizing Arabic Children’s Literature to Promote Health and Physical Awareness among Cycle One Students.” The project examines how Arabic children’s literature can promote health literacy, nutrition, hygiene, and physical activity among primary-school students in the UAE and Oman through interdisciplinary research, school-based fieldwork, curriculum development, and academic publication.

Expected Skills

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and have a record of research and academic publishing in English. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in children’s literature, primary/elementary education, health education, curriculum studies, or closely related fields. The successful candidate will contribute to literature and content analysis, data collection and analysis, school-based research activities, curriculum development, preparation of research reports, and the writing and publication of peer-reviewed academic papers. Candidates should demonstrate excellent academic writing and communication skills in English, strong research and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within an interdisciplinary and international research team; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. The position is based at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and includes excellent health insurance coverage.
