Job Description
The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a Research Assistant position in Translation Studies. The successful candidate will support research projects analyzing translation strategies and cross-cultural representations in literary texts and their translations. Required qualifications include a masters degree in Translation Studies or Comparative Literature, demonstrated experience with data analysis and visualization techniques, and proven academic writing proficiency. Strong communication abilities and experience in literary translation research are essential for this role. Key responsibilities include developing analytical frameworks, compiling and assessing target text data, and tracing lineages of influence across texts. Additional duties include assisting in minor teaching tasks, supporting research-related activities such as literature reviews and data collection, providing administrative support, and maintaining research documentation.
