Job Description

A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University with Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani. The successful candidate will be engaged in a clinical research project investigating the presence of cardiometabolic diseases including MASLD in patients with sleep apnea starting CPAP. The position is for an enthusiastic young clinician with an interest in clinical research who can work with patients with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should be a medical graduate/doctor with clinical experience (having completed internship). The candidate should have good knowledge and experience in clinical research. Primary responsibilities include the design and performance of clinical research as well as interviewing patients, taking blood samples, and performing focused ultrasound and FibroScan. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining detailed records, logs, and summary reports of all research findings using appropriate software, and performing other job-related duties as required. The working hours are during the week, including evening shifts with occasional weekend.

Expected Skills

Must have a Good Clinical Practice certificate. Candidates with additional educational qualifications like a Master’s in a clinical specialty/research will be preferred, and having a HAAD license as a healthcare professional is desirable
