Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities: A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. Our laboratory is interested in understanding the biology Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and its role in the pathogenesis of EBV-associated diseases. This project involves using a rabbit model of EBV infection to understand early events in primary EBV infection. The position is supported by a grant from UAEU Zayed Centre-Based grant. The post is initially for one year and may be extended to another one year depending upon the funding availability. Depending on the funding, suitably qualified candidate may have the opportunity to register for a PhD.

Minimum Qualification

The position is for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and hard-working individual with an MSc degree in biomedical sciences, preferably with a major in microbiology/virology. Having veterinary degree would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate should have a strong practical background in cellular/molecular biology and histopathology.
