Research Assistant Aeroacoustics

Job Description

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of aeroacoustics. The research assistant should be knowledgeable of sound propagation in duct, wave equations and aeroacoustics. The candidate should be able to synthesize, characterize and apply acoustical theory and sound generation physics for flow duct noise control. The preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience in the both aeroacosutics and aerodynamics and have a master degree in relevant field.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:

• Skilled in aeroacoustic and aerodynamic simulation
• Ability to synthesize and characterize sound sources in a flow duct with discontinuous boundaries
• Good technical writing skills
• Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role
  
  

• Good experience in computational aeroacoustics using COMSOL.
• Demonstrable willingness to support work in lab development and project students
• Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
