Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Theatre (OT) team. As an RN in the OT, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations and delivering high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, patient care, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are ready.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to plan and implement patient care procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgery.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Administer medications and manage patient pain during post-operative recovery.
  • Document all relevant patient information accurately and promptly in medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide updates and education.
  • Support the team in developing and implementing further patient care plans.
  • Maintain high standards of nursing care in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.

Requirements

  • Current registered nursing license .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an operating theatre or surgical setting.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and surgical teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain composure in high-stress environments.
  • Proficiency in using hospital management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
