Job Description

Our healthcare facility is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Operating Theatre team. As a Registered Nurse specializing in operating theater duties, you will provide top-notch patient care during surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the entire surgical team to ensure every operation is conducted smoothly and safely. Your expertise in preoperative and postoperative care, as well as your ability to remain calm under pressure, will be essential in this fast-paced and challenging environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating theater for all surgeries.
  • Assist the surgical team in gowning and gloving prior to surgery activities.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures.
  • Coordinate with anesthesiologists to ensure patients receive appropriate anesthesia care.
  • Document all intraoperative nursing activities and patient data accurately and promptly.
  • Provide emotional support and information to patients and their families pre and post-surgery.
  • Perform postoperative evaluations and provide necessary aftercare instructions to patients.
  • Handle the sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and health regulations in the operating theater.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of surgical supplies and order replacements as needed.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities regularly.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team for continuous improvement of operating room procedures.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license .
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an operating theatre environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preoperative and postoperative nursing procedures required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced surgical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team and patient interactions.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and experience with medical software.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
