Job Description

A Radiographer, designated as 28N25 in military occupational contexts, plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector, specifically within medical imaging departments. Their primary task is to perform diagnostic imaging examinations, such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, which are essential for diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions. Radiographers work alongside radiologists, doctors, and nurses to ensure that high-quality imaging is obtained while maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment, including X-ray and MRI machines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols to protect patients from excess radiation exposure.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide clear instructions to ensure cooperation.
  • Verify patient identity and medical information before conducting imaging tests.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to interpret imaging results and diagnose medical conditions.
  • Adjust imaging equipment settings based on patient needs and procedural requirements.
  • Document and report findings accurately in patient electronic health records.
  • Assist in the development of new imaging techniques and technologies for improved outcomes.
  • Educate patients about procedures and calm any anxiety related to imaging tests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in the imaging department.
  • Stay updated with continuous education to adhere to evolving radiology standards.
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to prioritize patient imaging requests efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related healthcare field preferred.
  • Valid licensure to practice as a Radiographer is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical radiology setting is required.
  • Proficient understanding of radiographic positioning and anatomy essential for the role.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to handle technical issues with imaging equipment.
  • Physical stamina to manage long hours and the ability to assist in patient positioning.
