Job Description

As a Radiographer, you will be an essential part of the healthcare team, responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in diagnosing patients' medical conditions. You will work directly with patients, guiding them through the imaging process, ensuring their comfort, and minimizing exposure to radiation by following established safety protocols. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. You will work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic imaging centers, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely information critical to patient care.


Responsibilities

  • Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs for patient examination.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation protection and safety standards at all times.
  • Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging results and maintain image clarity.
  • Review and evaluate images to ensure they are of diagnostic quality, retaking as necessary.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the most appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results and other required documentation.
  • Stay updated with advancements in radiographic techniques and technology through continuous professional development.
  • Troubleshoot and report any technical issues with imaging equipment to ensure its functionality.
  • Adhere to all organizational protocols and procedures, including infection control and quality assurance standards.
  • Handle imaging equipment with precision to prevent any damage or data loss.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to strategic planning for improved patient care services.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist as required by state regulations.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic equipment, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in imaging and documentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies with professionalism and composure.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and various imaging software applications.
