Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor at 28N25, you'll play a critical role in managing and overseeing all construction costs related to a project from initial calculations to the final figures. You will ensure that project costs are kept within budget without compromising on the quality and standards of the construction. You’ll be engaged in a variety of projects, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency and effective cost management. Your role will be pivotal in reducing project risk, enhancing value for money, and coming up with robust estimates that make a significant contribution to the successful delivery of construction projects. You should have a strong understanding of construction methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough cost analysis assessments to identify budget requirements for projects.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects considering materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to finalize project scopes.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure financial efficiency and control.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and procurement strategies to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and all project stakeholders.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts with contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate completed projects to assess cost performance and project management processes.
  • Review all change orders to determine the impact on project budgets and timelines.
  • Stay up to date with current construction methodologies and legislative requirements.
  • Develop and implement cost management control systems to streamline project costing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role is required.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard estimation and building management software is essential.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills to effectively manage budgets and contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, costs, and industry regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple projects.
