Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the construction process, managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This position requires a proactive individual who can work closely with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure projects are completed within the allotted time frame and budget. Your expertise will help in reducing the overall costs of projects while still achieving the required standards and quality. Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, with the architect and/or client.
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work to control budgets effectively.
  • Perform risk and value management and cost control to safeguard project resources.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks within the project timelines.
  • Work closely with project team members to understand the scope and timeline of each construction project.
  • Advise on procurement strategies and select subcontractors for successful project completion.
  • Negotiate and analyze costs for variations in the work to maintain project profitability.
  • Provide assistance in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
  • Monitor cost variations, compiling reports to present to stakeholders for financial transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and legal regulations to uphold industry standards.
  • Manage budgets and contract administration for finalized projects to enhance cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors to maintain relationship and project flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and legislation compliance.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software applications and cost management tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical acumen for precise cost estimation and analysis.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
