Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team, code 07N25. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction cost management and a keen eye for detail. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the financial aspects of our construction projects are executed efficiently and within budget. Your role will include tasks such as cost estimation, contract management, project evaluation, and stakeholder communication. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality projects while maintaining fiscal responsibility. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and drive cost-effective practices within our organization.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects with precision.
  • Manage budgets, expenditure, and contract agreements for construction projects.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients to resolve financial issues effectively.
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise on proactive cost control measures.
  • Analyze tendering documentation and submit detailed, competitive quotes.
  • Prepare, analyze, and document variations and change orders in projects.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure financial aspects align with the budget.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with contractors and suppliers efficiently.
  • Provide financial advice and projections to project management teams promptly.
  • Handle cost reports, forecasts, and periodic financial statements accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Conduct site visits to verify and validate material and labor costs on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software like AutoCAD and MS Office Suite is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Membership in a professional body such as the RICS is highly desirable.
