The role supports both Civil and Oil & Gas field projects by ensuring coating works are executed correctly, documented accurately, and accepted by clients and consultants.<p style="margin-bottom: 10px; overflow-wrap: break-word; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Key Responsibilities:<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Review & Planning

<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Review project specifications, drawings, and approved method statements related to painting and coating works.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Verify coating systems, surface preparation requirements, and acceptance criteria prior to commencement of works.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Coordinate daily inspection activities with site teams and subcontractors.
<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Surface Preparation Inspection

<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Inspect surface preparation activities including cleaning, degreasing, abrasive blasting, and power/tool cleaning in accordance with approved standards.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Verify surface cleanliness, profile, and preparation grade (e.g., SSPC / ISO standards).<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Ensure environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) are suitable prior to coating application.
<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Painting & Coating Inspection

<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Monitor and inspect application of primers, intermediate, and top coats in accordance with approved coating systems.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Verify mixing ratios, pot life, application methods, and curing times.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Perform and record dry film thickness (DFT), wet film thickness (WFT), adhesion, and holiday testing as applicable.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Ensure compliance with specified number of coats, color coding, and finish requirements.
<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Inspection & Testing Documentation

<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and coating inspection reports.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Maintain coating inspection records, environmental logs, and test results in line with project requirements.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Ensure all inspection records are accurate, complete, and traceable for audits and handover.
<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
<ul style="padding-left: 2.5rem;">
<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Identify and report non-conforming coating works and surface preparation issues.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Assist in raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions to closure.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Verify rework and corrective actions through re-inspection.
<b style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Coordination & Site Support
<ul style="padding-left: 2.5rem;">
<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Coordinate with subcontractors, site engineers, and QA/QC teams on coating quality issues.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Participate in joint inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors.<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Support QA/QC Engineers during audits, commissioning support, and project handover activities.

Required Qualifications & Competencies<ul style="padding-left: 2.5rem;">
<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">5+ years of experience in painting and coating inspection within construction or Oil & Gas field projects<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Certification such as NACE Level I / II, BGAS, or equivalent is preferred<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Strong knowledge of surface preparation and coating application practices<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Familiarity with international standards such as ISO, SSPC, NACE, ASTM<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Experience using inspection tools including DFT gauges, WFT gauges, hygrometers, and holiday detectors<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Strong attention to detail and reporting skills<span style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;">Ability to work in site and field environments under varying conditions<ul class="Pay Rate Group" style="padding-left: 2.5rem;">
