Job Description
The Key responsibility of a Quality Engineer in HALCON is to safeguard the quality of our products and foster a “Quality Culture”. The job incumbent actively engages in the development and implementation of inspection activities, detection and resolution of problems, making continuous improvement efforts to drive optimization, increase capacity, minimize defects, and reduce cost, ensuring that the products meet the required quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement quality standards, quality control systems, testing procedures, and methods for inspection of materials, components, or processes in line with the industry standards (FAI)
- Initiate MRB (Material Review Board) with all stakeholders to understand underlying issues, develop corrective actions, recommend solutions, and improvements
- Execute and circulate MRB decisions in the ERP and ensure completion of all agreed corrective tasks/actions.
- Drive continuous quality improvement by monitoring and enhancing First Pass Yield (FPY) while reducing defect, scrap, and rework rates through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Should be well-versed in the 8D process/root cause analysis.
- Conduct functional tests on finished products to ensure operational integrity, performance, and safety before delivery or deployment.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Perform a detailed review and revision of 2D drawings released for preparing inspection plans.
- Ensure that testing and inspection are performed as per the inspection plans, using the most appropriate quality equipment and measurement tools.
- Ensure that quality equipment and testing tools meet the established precision and accuracy levels and are well-maintained and safe to operate at all times.
- Contribute to the production performance Management inspection process to verify conformance and productivity of the production system.
- Ensure that workflows and processes comply with safety regulations and that all documentation is thoroughly completed as per quality guidelines.
- Validate and document new processes and equipment to ensure they meet quality standards.
Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience as Quality Controller/Engineer
- Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of quality inspection, auditing and testing.
- Knowledge in mechanical characteristic classifications
- Proven Problem solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or Certification in quality control / quality inspection, quality auditing (ISO 9001 etc.), process analysis, and reliability.
- 2-3 years of experience in Defence industry with regional exposure.
