Job
Summary
The
Civil QC Inspector will monitor and inspect civil, structural, and
architectural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved
project specifications, drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), applicable
codes, quality procedures, and client requirements.
The
role covers reinforced concrete structures, equipment foundations, buildings,
earthworks, roads and pavements, underground utilities, drainage systems,
trenches, grouting, and structural steel erection.
Key
Responsibilities
- Inspect
civil, structural, and architectural works in accordance with approved
drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and quality-control
procedures.
- Monitor
minor and major reinforced cement concrete structures, building works,
asphalt roads, pavements, cable and pipe trenches, drainage systems,
earthworks, tank foundations, sumps, pits, grouting, and structural steel
erection.
- Verify
compliance with general arrangement drawings, civil and architectural
drawings, foundation layouts, grading plans, sectional details, building
drawings, and plot plans.
- Conduct
quality inspections for concrete works, earthworks, architectural works,
underground services, grouting, and structural steel activities.
- Inspect
foundations for horizontal and vertical vessels, heat exchangers,
turbines, boilers, compressors, buildings, and other heavy equipment.
- Monitor
excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities, including
layer-by-layer sand bedding for cables, pipes, and underground services.
- Inspect
electrical and instrumentation duct banks, manholes, underground
facilities, and foundations for piping and E&I installations.
- Witness
field-density tests, soil-compaction tests, fresh-concrete tests,
hardened-concrete tests, and other laboratory or field tests.
- Verify
reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete quality, placement,
curing, waterproofing, and protective treatment for below-ground
structures.
- Perform
random survey checks using appropriate instruments to verify the location,
level, elevation, verticality, alignment, and dimensions of structures and
utilities.
- Inspect
culverts, roads, railway-related civil works, buildings, conduits,
plumbing, sewage systems, sumps, and foundations during and after
construction.
- Monitor the
installation of plumbing systems, equipment, fixtures, and associated
services to ensure compliance with approved requirements.
- Ensure
construction activities comply with relevant building codes, approved
specifications, safety requirements, signs, and markings.
- Identify
non-conforming work, report quality deviations, and monitor the
implementation of corrective actions.
- Prepare and
maintain inspection reports, checklists, test records, and other required
quality documentation.
- Coordinate
inspections with construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, client
representatives, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Monitor
site housekeeping, sanitation, waste disposal, and general cleanliness
where these form part of the civil inspection scope.
- Support
quality audits, project handover activities, punch-list clearance, and
final documentation closeout.
Requirements
- Diploma in
Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum
seven years of experience as a Civil QC Inspector.
- Relevant
inspection experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Previous
experience working with a major EPC contractor or its subcontractors.
- Strong
knowledge of civil construction activities, inspection procedures, ITPs,
method statements, and quality documentation.
- Ability to
interpret civil, structural, architectural, grading, foundation, and
plot-plan drawings.
- Good
understanding of concrete inspection, earthworks, underground services,
structural steel, roads, and building works.
- Good
written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to
work independently at a project or construction site.
Preferred
Requirements
- Previous
experience on ADNOC or similar major oil and gas projects.
- Familiarity
with applicable international civil-engineering codes and client quality
requirements.
- Experience
coordinating inspections with client, PMC, EPC, and third-party
representatives.
- Relevant
civil QA/QC certification or previous client approval would be
advantageous.
