The QA/QC Marine role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and compliance of marine projects with industry standards. This position involves overseeing the implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes for marine construction and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, audits, and tests to ensure all marine-related activities meet specific quality standards. They will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors to identify potential quality issues and develop strategies to enhance the efficiency and reliability of marine operations. An adept understanding of maritime regulations and standards is necessary, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed quality inspections of shipbuilding and marine engineering projects.
• Review and approve project plans as per quality assurance protocols.
• Develop and implement quality control testing methods for marine operations.
• Collaborate with marine subcontractors to rectify quality discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting quality control findings and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime standards and local marine regulations.
• Coordinate quality audits to evaluate the effectiveness of current quality procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality best practices.
• Monitor the overall quality performance of ongoing marine projects regularly.
• Implement corrective actions and preventive measures for identified quality risks.
• Ensure quality documentation and records are maintained in accordance with industry standards.
• Liaise with external auditors during official marine quality assurance inspections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years' experience in QA/QC roles within the marine industry.
• Thorough understanding of maritime codes, safety practices, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough quality assurance audits and inspections.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for effective quality assessments.
• Certification in Quality Control or Assurance is greatly preferred but not mandatory.
