Job Description

The QAQC Manager - Civil is a pivotal role within the construction industry, ensuring that quality control and assurance procedures are rigorously implemented across all aspects of civil engineering projects. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead and develop quality management systems, processes, and practices. The QAQC Manager is responsible for coordinating with project teams to ensure that all construction activities comply with established quality standards and government regulations. This role also involves meticulous documentation, inspection, and testing activities to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a robust understanding of civil engineering principles and a keen eye for detail. They should be well-versed in industry best practices and possess excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and mentor teams towards quality excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control and assurance systems for projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and contractors to address quality issues and improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation for quality audits and compliance checks.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and project teams on quality assurance practices.
  • Oversee material testing and evaluation to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders regarding quality objectives and project progress.
  • Analyze quality control test results and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality performance metrics and project status for management review.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with third-party inspectors and auditors for independent quality assessments.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality management in civil construction.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices in construction.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in project management software and quality assurance tools is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CQE, CQM, or similar quality certifications are advantageous.
