Job Description

The QAQC Manager - Civil plays a critical role in ensuring that quality standards are maintained in all civil engineering projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and testing procedures. The QAQC Manager will oversee all stages of the project to ensure compliance with the project's specified standards and regulatory requirements. A successful candidate will exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills while working collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. They must be adept at identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. By spearheading quality control processes, the QAQC Manager ensures that projects not only meet industry standards but also the client’s expectations for performance and durability.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Coordinate with project managers to integrate quality management activities into project schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Review civil design plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Lead quality control team in the testing of construction materials and work in progress.
  • Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain documentation related to quality audits and create detailed reports for management.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to present evidence of quality assurance compliance.
  • Train staff and subcontractors on quality control and assurance policies and best practices.
  • Ensure that safety standards are fully incorporated in quality control processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to resolve QAQC issues promptly.
  • Keep abreast of new developments and innovations in quality management within the civil engineering field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in QAQC management in civil engineering.
  • Proven experience with construction quality control and assurance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations pertaining to civil engineering.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze test data.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, for effective public speaking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
