Job Description

QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and control activities on Oil & Gas projects to ensure compliance with client specifications and international standards. Supports quality management by coordinating inspections, audits, non-conformance handling, and training to maintain high-quality project deliverables.


Key Accountabilities:



  • Review project specifications and assess QA/QC requirements

  • Develop and obtain approval for Quality Plans, Procedures, and Inspection Test Plans

  • Assist Quality Manager with daily quality activities, reporting, and meetings

  • Address and monitor quality issues; manage NCRs and CARs

  • Liaise with client, contractor, and third-party inspectors on welding documentation and NDT reports

  • Supervise QA/QC inspectors and coordinate interdepartmental QA/QC tasks

  • Organize quality inspections, maintain inspection records, and ensure compliance with specifications and codes

  • Review Material Test Certificates for conformity

  • Manage document control and distribution

  • Maintain equipment calibration records

  • Conduct audits on subcontractors, vendors, and departments

  • Provide quality training for workforce

  • Prepare technical queries, concession requests, and quality documentation completion


Required Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Mechanical & Metallurgy or related field.



  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

  • CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent certification.

  • ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certified.

  • ASME Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

  • Thorough understanding and application of all relevant welding processes, techniques, and their industrial applicability.

  • Expertise in standards and codes including ASME, API, AWS, ASTM, and other international quality standards.

  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, isometrics, and related documentation.

  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, work practices, and quality standards.

  • Proven ability to coordinate QA/QC activities with Clients, Contractors, and Third-Party Inspectors (TPI).

  • Skilled in managing NDT subcontractors and overseeing subcontractor quality control processes.
