Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all material of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications

What Youll Be Doing

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in implementing and enforcing the project’s Quality Management System (QMS), Projects Quality Plans at site level.
  • Review contractor’s inspection requests (IRs), verify completeness of prerequisites, and coordinate with site inspectors to perform inspections as per approved ITPs.
  • Monitor contractor and third-party laboratory tests, ensuring compliance with approved sampling and testing plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality documentation required for final project handover.
  • Ensure on time processing of non-conformances reports (NCRs); Follow up on the closure of NCRs and observations, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions by the contractor.
  • Verify compliance of materials used on site, ensuring traceability through delivery inspections and testing certificates.
  • Support the QA/QC Manager in preparing periodic quality reports, trend analyses, and inputs to monthly progress reports.
  • Conduct spot checks on workmanship and adherence to specifications, reporting findings to the Resident Engineer and QA/QC Manager.
  • Liaise with the contractor’s QA/QC staff to resolve quality issues on site under the direction of the QA/QC Manager.
  • Participate in toolbox talks or quality briefings to reinforce quality requirements at site level.
  • Conducts/assists audit per the Audit schedule.
  • Interact with Contractors and Clients teams to optimize documentation related to quality and inspection checks.


What Required Skills Youll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience.
  • Experience in the construction of Utilities and infrastructure projects preferred in Abu Dhabi.
  • DMT/TAQA approved Engineer is preferrable
  • A minimum of 8 years experience of related quality control / assurance activities with 3 years’ regional experience of major large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office and project-related systems for reporting and record keeping

  • Requires knowledge of Quality Management practices, and processes
  • Requires experience with quality management systems and standards specified by ISO 9000, ASME, ANSI, ASTM and similar organizations.
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly, conduct presentations to management, and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
