Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in the efficient, timely acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a good understanding of supply chain procedures. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our purchasing strategies are executed seamlessly, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all purchasing transactions.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to maintain inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to resolve invoice and payment issues.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and their offerings.
  • Assist in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers and vendors.
  • Support the procurement team in sourcing new products and materials.
  • Generate regular reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a purchasing assistant or similar role preferred.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software applications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively under pressure.
